The Role We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Consultant to join our client’s Tokyo office. In this role, you will be a key part of the team, working on exciting projects ranging from cutting-edge Hi-Tech and Data Centres to complex building projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to clients on behalf of the consultancy.
  • Managing your own workload and using your initiative.
  • Working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position. The role is based in Tokyo, with potential work at other client offices across Japan.

Key Requirements for the Cost Consultant Commercial Japan

This role is ideal for a bilingual quantity surveyor or cost consultant with the following skills and experience:

  • Fluent Japanese 日本語 is ESSENTIAL. You must have JLPT N1 or N2 proficiency, or be a native speaker.
  • Intermediate English skills are required. Please submit your CV in English.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Consultant.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field is a bonus, but not required if you can demonstrate relevant experience.
  • Chartered status (MRICS) is desirable but not essential. Our client offers ongoing training and support for candidates working towards their APC.
