The Role of the Cost Director – KSA – Stadiums

Our client is a premier international cost consultancy. They are seeking a Director of Cost to spearhead their specialist sports and entertainment assets division in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This is a high-profile, strategic leadership position. You will be acting as the technical lead for major stadium and indoor sports arena developments across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role will entail taking Profit & Loss (P&L) ownership of the division. Management of an established cost team, and the continued growth and expansion of the sports sector portfolio.

The mandate spans major pre-construction activities alongside comprehensive post-contract delivery. You will lead client relationships, direct commercial strategies, and ensure the highest standards of technical and commercial excellence from concept through to completion.

Remuneration & Package for the Cost Director KSA Stadiums

  • Monthly Salary / Package: Circa 80,000 to 85,000 SAR per month total package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & P&L Management: Assume full operational and financial accountability for the cost consultancy sports division in KSA, driving team performance and business growth.

  • Technical Direction: Act as the senior technical authority for major stadium and indoor arena projects. Oversee robust cost planning, as well as procurement, tendering, and commercial management.

  • Pre & Post Contract Delivery: Lead comprehensive pre-construction estimating, cost-benefit analysis, value engineering, and oversee rigorous post-contract administration and final account settlement.

  • Team Development: Mentor, manage, and scale a dedicated team of cost management professionals.  As well as fostering technical excellence and professional growth of the team.

  • Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, developers, and project delivery partners across the region.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Circa 20+ years of post-degree professional experience within a recognized cost consultancy environment. We will not consider candidates with a main contracting background for this vacancy.

  • Sector Expertise: Essential hands-on commercial cost management experience delivering major stadiums and/or indoor sports arenas.

  • Qualifications: Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management. Our client will not consider Engineering degrees for this role

  • Professional Accreditation: MRICS certification is MANDATORY. This is a significant position and this is a requirement at this level.

  • Regional Background: Open to candidates with or without prior Middle East experience, provided you possess undeniable, high-level technical expertise in major sports infrastructure have a Cost Consultancy background and MRICS.

  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh, KSA.
