Managing Quantity Surveyor | Team Leader: Aviation & Infrastructure – Dubai
The Opportunity: Stafford Lawrence Ltd has been exclusively retained by a specialist, Cost & Claims Consultancy that has been a fixture of the UAE construction industry for over 40 years.
Known for their technical “purism” and role as a trusted commercial monitor for major government entities, this firm offers a career path for a Quantity Surveyor who prides themselves on technical accuracy rather than just corporate management. You will lead the commercial delivery of multi-billion dollar aviation developments.
The Role of the Managing Quantity Surveyor Aviation Dubai

Technical Monitoring: Act as the primary authority for the supervising and monitoring of major aviation work-streams, as well as ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity.

Audit & Verification: Utilize advanced measurement expertise to verify contractor submissions and manage complex post-contract remeasurement.

Team Leadership: Provide technical mentorship and line management for a team of SQS and QS professionals.

Client Representative: Serve as the expert commercial point of contact, defending the client’s position on high-value infrastructure projects.
Mandatory Selection Criteria (In Order of Precedence)

Academic Foundation: A full-time BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying from a UK-recognised university.

Technical Training: It is preferable that your degree included a formal Measurement Module; this is essential for the supervising and monitoring nature of this appointment.

Experience: Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience, with a primary focus on Major Aviation/Airport projects or high-value infrastructure/high-rise building works.

Regional Expertise: Current or previous Middle East experience is essential.

Professional Status: MRICS or FRICS is preferred. However, we will consider candidates nearing chartered status if their Middle East technical and measurement experience is exceptional.

Capabilities: Proven ability to manage teams and a balance of pre- and post-contract experience. Additional qualifications in Arbitration or Claims are highly desirable.
- Our client will consider candidates with strong POST contract experience and a some experience with a Contractor for this role
Remuneration & Benefits for the Managing Quantity Surveyor Aviation

Package: A competitive total monthly tax-free package (typically 55,000 – 60,000 AED) will be negotiated based on technical merit.

Selection Process: The client prioritizes technical “fit” and measurement proficiency; written offers are issued following a successful technical interview.
